CREDITS.

Alex Trippe is an interdisciplinary artist based in Central Texas. Her practice utilizes unfixed materials such as glass, wax, ceramics, and plaster to examine the impact external forces–gravitational, geological, and anthropogenic–have on the lives of objects. She studies debris washed ashore by tides, glacial erratics deposited on the landscape, and marks left from the meeting of a thumb and a piece of clay. She turns towards objects as remnants of earthly experience to parse out what it means to be touched, emotionally and physically, by the world and by one another.

ABOUT.
Trippe earned an MFA in Studio Art from The Ohio State University in 2025, and a BFA in Photography, Imaging, and Emerging Media from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2018. She has exhibited nationally at Urban Arts Space (Columbus, OH); Dream Clinic Project Space (Columbus, OH); The American Sign Museum (Cincinnati, OH); and Jane Hartsook Gallery (New York, NY), among others. She is currently a Lecturer in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University and also works as a teaching artist in community ceramic studios.
