ABOUT.
Michael Anthony García’s practices manifest through writing / performance, sculpture / installation, photography / video, as well as the blurred spaces between these disciplines. He uses these overlapping approaches to investigate his personal history and, through that process, engage with the experiences, memories, and stories of others

"I collage objects, ideas and stories. Much of my work is based on clothing as a stand in for the human body. I approach my performance work as one would with other practices like yoga or meditation, through which I can embody (perhaps in futility) an emotional positivity. It’s like “going through the motions” and “faking it till I make it,” in an effort to better understand my place in the world."
