ABOUT.
As an artist and filmmaker, her practice is centered on cultural narratives. She uses a feminist lens to think about the concept of borders, whether visible, invisible or blurred. Her connection to the US/Mexico border deeply influences her work and the stories she engages with. She always intends to redefine narratives, whether it be sharing an alternative perspective of the immigrant experience or a woman’s relationship to her body. Through video installation and performance, she aims to explore and recontextualize these stories.

"A figure is always present in my video installations and performances, whether it be my own or another person. When working with others, my collaborative process heavily involves those being photographed or filmed. Taking care of how I capture participants, collaborators and subjects is at the forefront of my practice. I believe visual representation is important and am invested in the ethical making of images and their reception."
